My Acai Berry Diet Results – Are They Real?

I know that I’m not alone in saying I have tried almost every diet in the book. Atkin’s had me craving carbohydrates until I raided the fridge. Weight Watcher’s was a weekly torture when it came to the weigh in. The Cabbage Soup Diet made me feel sick.

I was at the end of my tether. I had been trying to lose weight for years and had become what is known by nutritionists as a “yo-yo dieter.” Some of the excess flab would disappear only to come straight back when I started eating a normal diet again.


My annual medical brought it home to me that it was time to do something that would make a difference. After weighing me and asking questions about my lifestyle, my doctor warned me that my weight was leading me towards possible severe health problems. Heart disease, strokes, diabetes and worse. The list made me shudder. I am a young mum and want to see my kids grow up so I went home to work out a solution.

No single “acai berry diet” exists. Instead, you’ll find advertisements for products such as “acai berry detox,” “acai burn,” “acai pure” and “acai berry edge,” promising quick weight loss. Some of the ads promise “450% more weight loss than dieting and exercise alone” and claim you can lose up to 20 pounds in one week.

According to some web sites selling acai products, acai’s fiber and essential fatty acid content contribute to its ability to “burn fat more efficiently, process food more quickly, cut down on cravings, and boost metabolism.” Detox acai products further promise to “cleanse” your system of fat and rid your body of “toxic buildup that is weighing you down.”

How can they make these claims? Unlike drugs, over-the-counter supplements and foods are not closely regulated, so some manufacturers can over-sell health benefits of their products.

Grotto does note that there is something unique about acai: It’s one of the few fruits, besides avocados, that contain monounsaturated fats (MUFAS).

While MUFAS may work to help keep you feeling satisfied if you include them in a calorie-controlled diet, the amount in acai is so small that you would need to consume large quantities to get enough MUFAs, he says. And not only would that be expensive, he says, it would add lots of extra calories. (MUFAS are also found in olives, avocados, nuts, seeds, dark chocolate, soybean, flax, and olive and sunflower oils.)

I started to wonder about drastic measures like gastric band surgery, but luckily one of my friends suggested I try one more diet. I had never heard of the Acai Berry before but my friend told me it would change my life.

I checked out a number of Acai Berry Diet results reviews on the web, and was amazed to see many success stories, from women like me who had difficulty getting rid of their unwanted fat. These nutrients help to keep your body super healthy, and the same time as assisting the body to burn more fat.

Within just a couple of weeks, the fat gathered on my waist seemed to melt away, and looking in the mirror I could see the difference in my glowing skin and shiny hair. My friends and family commented that my energy level had soared and that I seemed happier than ever before.

If, like me, obesity is something that troubles you, don’t give up hope, BUT, after a lot of thought, I began to think. Without realizing, I had the mentality that Acai was going to help, so subconsciously, I was eating better and getting out more. So was it really all Acai Berry?
